HOPI KOMO ink

$20 ︎ Add to Cart

All natural handmade Komo/ Hopi Red Dye amaranth ink. This variety of komo/ amaranth originates with the Hopi Nation, who have used it for dye for many centuries.
I foraged these plants from Boone Fox Farm in Columbia, S.C.

This ink can be used in a pen, with a brush just like watercolor paint, or in any other way you like. The color is a bright, deep red/ magenta, or light pink depending on application.

Natural ink is alive and full of subtle inconsistencies and changes. This is all part of the magic, enjoy the surprises!
For permanence, archive your work with a spray fixative like Spectrafix.
